Lynn DeSalvo

Founder, Play with Purpose LLC

Lynn DeSalvo is the founder and owner of Play with Purpose LLC. She is an American Speech and Hearing Association Certified Speech and Language Pathologist. She has worked primarily with preschool-aged children who exhibit a range of delays and disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), intellectual disabilities, and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorders (ADD/ADHD).

In her experience, she has discovered that children with ASD respond best to visual stimulation. In an effort to reach them, she has developed a communication curriculum which includes a variety of strategies: Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), visual schedules, and a focus on teaching play and other communication skills through video modeling. Through teaching the art of play, she has been able to reach children and adults alike.

Lynn developed an innovative DVD – Playing with Purpose – which teaches independent and interactive play skills based on developmental norms. The intonation and pacing of her play scripts and play sequences immediately capture the child’s attention and the results are astounding!

Lynn received her Baccalaureate and Master’s degrees in Speech and Language Pathology from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
